Rebecca, Practice Manager
I began my career in the dental field as a Dental Assistant in 1997 after graduating from dental assisting school. Soon after I started working with Dr. Matsumoto. Dr Matsumoto highly values educating his staff through continuing education and I he gave me numerous opportunities to attend high level courses including P.A.C. Live in San Francisco, CA. I learned much about the dental field from him. After my youngest child was born I stayed home for a while but eventually returned to dentistry which I am very passionate about. During that time I was able to gain other experience in orthodontics, periodontics and a little oral surgery. In 2013 I was once again given the opportunity to be Dr. Matsumoto’s assistant and I jumped at the chance to come work with him and all the other great people at Grandview whom I had missed over the years. Dr. Matsumoto’s level of skill combined with his passion for dentistry and his patients and deep respect for his staff make him a pleasure to work with. In 2014 I became Practice Manager and I am enjoying the challenge of gaining new skills in dentistry while continuing to work with all our wonderful patients. When I am not here at Grandview I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, ice fishing in the winter months and doing yard work, gardening, and canning in the summer.
Nicole, Licensed Dental Assistant
I first became interested in the field of dentistry in 2012 when my younger brother needed braces. After accompanying him to some of his orthodontic appointments, I started to grow an interest in pursuing a career as a dental assistant. After doing some research, I applied to Hennepin Technical College in 2013 and graduated the summer of 2014 with an Associates Degree as a Dental Assistant. Shortly following graduation, I was hired by Dr. Matsumoto and became part of Grandview’s dental team. From my time working here, I have witnessed first-hand the skill and artistry of Dr. Matsumoto and appreciate his attention to detail.
I was born in Nebraska and moved to Minnesota with my family in 2003. I started dancing when I was four and continued until I had received my level 5 ballet trophy when I was 16. I have traveled to London, Paris, and many places within the USA and I look forward to future travels. In my spare time, I enjoy riding horses, reading (mystery novels are my favorite!), and spending time with friends, family, and my sweet little dog, Heidi.
Kris, Registered Dental Hygienist
I began working for this office doing dental assisting as well as lab and office work as a high school student in 1968. I loved dentistry and working with the patients, so I decided to get my degree in dental hygiene and graduated from Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN in 1974. After graduation I continued to work for the office. There have been many changes in dentistry through the years and I have been lucky enough to work with dentists that believe in advanced education and technology. We were fortunate to have Dr. Matsumoto join our group in 1993. He shares the same beliefs and made sure we learned from the best, which took us to Discuss Dental Seminar Extravaganza in Las Vegas, NV, P.A.C. Live Pacific Aesthetic Continuum in San Francisco, CA, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Nashville, TN, and Pete Dawson Smile Design with Function in Chicago, IL. I also continue to take new classes and am active in an Implant Study Club. Dr. Matsumoto wants us to be knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry in order for us to pass that along to our patients. I know that my patients, many of whom I have seen for years, are getting the best dentistry possible from a perfectionist, who is also kind, caring , and compassionate. It is great to be a part of all the wonderful smiles that have been created. I still get a kick out of dentistry and all that can be done these days. Who knows what we can look forward to.
My time away from the office is spent with my husband, two sons, daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. We spend time in the summer at the cabin with family and friends, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. The rest of the year is spent baking, canning, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
